Please read these terms before creating, sharing or embedding a wheel.
1. About these terms
These Terms and Conditions apply to Wheel and Names at https://www.wheelandnames.com, including random wheels, team tools, imports, exports and embeds. By using the service, you agree to these terms to the extent an agreement can validly be formed under applicable law. If you disagree, stop using the service. The current service is free and does not require an account.
2. Who may use the service
You may use the tools for lawful personal, educational and business activities. When acting for an organization, you must have authority to do so. If you cannot legally accept these terms yourself, use the service under the supervision of a parent, guardian or authorized educator. Organizers are responsible for deciding whether an activity is appropriate for their participants.
3. Random results and your responsibilities
Outcomes use browser-generated randomness. Equal weights give entries equal chances; changing weights changes those chances. Duplicate entries can increase the chance of a label being selected. Check your entries, weights, duplicates and removal settings before a spin. Results are not predictions, professional advice, certified draws or independently verifiable records. Do not use a result as the sole basis for decisions affecting health, safety, employment, credit, legal rights or substantial financial interests.
4. Giveaways and promotions
You are responsible for the legality, eligibility requirements, prizes, disclosures and platform rules of your giveaway, raffle or promotion. Wheel and Names does not sponsor your activity, verify participants or administer prizes. Do not use the service for unlawful wagering or gambling.
5. Acceptable use
Do not break the law, infringe intellectual property or privacy rights, exploit children, threaten or harass people, impersonate others, distribute malware, bypass security or disrupt the service. Do not falsely claim that a result guarantees fairness, participant eligibility or regulatory compliance.
6. Your entries and images
You retain rights to your names, text and images. You are responsible for permission to use and share them, including personal information about other people. Include only information needed for your activity. We do not claim ownership of your material. Current tools process entries and uploaded images in your browser; using a local image does not grant us a general license to publish or sell it.
7. Local storage and backups
Saved wheels, settings, images and results are stored in your browser on your device, rather than in an account. Clearing browser storage, private browsing, changing devices, storage limits or errors may make data unavailable. Keep your own backups. JSON exports and backup tools retain supported wheel data; CSV and TXT contain a more limited list without images or every setting. History has a separate export. We do not provide server-side backups of your local wheels.
8. Sharing and embedding
Sharing is optional. Shared links and embed code contain readable entry labels, weights and supported options. Anyone receiving them may read, copy or redistribute those details. Share only information you may disclose. Shared and embedded wheels open independent copies without your history. Uploaded images are not included in current shared links. Embedded wheels do not save wheel data on the viewer’s device. Deleting a local wheel does not revoke copies of a link already shared. You may embed wheels on sites supporting iframes without falsely implying our endorsement.
9. Third-party platforms and privacy
Social-media tools use lists you supply; they do not automatically fetch Instagram comments or authenticate participants. Wheel and Names is not affiliated with or endorsed by Instagram, Meta, YouTube or other referenced platforms. Follow their rules. External sites, hosting and analytics services have their own terms and privacy practices. Our Privacy Policy explains this website’s data practices; these terms do not expand those practices.
10. Website materials
You may use the tools and share or embed wheels as described here. This permission does not transfer rights to the Wheel and Names name, branding, original website materials or software. Third-party components retain their applicable licenses. Do not use our branding to mislead people about affiliation or endorsement.
11. Availability and responsibility
We aim to keep the service useful but cannot guarantee uninterrupted availability, compatibility with every device, error-free operation or recovery of local data. To the extent permitted by applicable law, the service is provided as available without additional promises of fitness for a particular purpose. Check exports and decide how to use results. To the extent permitted by law, we are not responsible for indirect losses, lost profits or lost local data arising from use. Nothing here excludes liability that cannot legally be excluded or limits mandatory consumer rights and remedies.
12. Changes and disputes
We may change features and update these terms. Updates are identified by the date above and apply prospectively as permitted by law. Material changes requiring notice or consent will be handled as the law requires. Applicable law determines your rights and the courts competent to hear a dispute. These terms do not impose mandatory arbitration or waive mandatory protections where you live. If a provision is unenforceable, the remaining provisions continue to apply to the extent permitted by law.
